The Saline hockey team continued to struggle in its first game of the new year when the Hornets took on Wyandotte at home Jan. 3. Saline lost 8-1.

"It was a poor performance for us," said head coach Drew Denzin. "Their goalies didn't play particularly well."
That was fairly evident by the eight goals scored on the Hornets out of 23 shots, giving them a save percentage of only about 65 percent.
Saline's lone goal came on a power-play effort when Justin Owen was fed by Sean MacNeil and found the net in the third period.
The Hornets have struggled for the past several games and are doing what they can to get something going in a positive direction.
