Couple to wed July 26

Steve Rhoades of Ypsilanti and Lauren Gelso of Monroe are engaged to be married July 26.

The future bride is the daughter of Eric and Beth Redmond, and Pat and Linda Gelso. She is a 1998 graduate of Ida High School and received bachelor's and master's degrees from Eastern Michigan University in special education with an endorsement in cognitive impairment and autism.
She is employed as a special education teacher at the Monroe Intermediate School District. She is also the owner of Elegant Chair Coverings, a chair cover rental business.
The future groom is the son of Kim and Dee Dee Rhoades. He is a 1999 graduate of Clinton High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in biology from EMU and expects to complete his master's degree in cell and molecular biology from EMU in April.
He is employed by EMU and Washtenaw Community College as a microbiology and biology lecturer, respectively, for the winter 2008 semester.
The couple plan to reside in Monroe following their wedding this summer.
