Open house set Feb. 12 at Saline High School: Saline High School will hold its annual open house Feb. 12 for the parents of current eighth-graders. Tours of the building will be available starting at 6 p.m. All consortium and technology classrooms will be open.

The parent meeting will begin in the auditorium at 7 p.m. and run until 7:30 p.m. At the meeting, various speakers will present information on driver's education, the trimester system and scheduling for the fall of 2008.
After the parent meeting, representatives from each high school department will be available in the commons. Call 429-8000, ext. 2292.
AARP offer tax assistance: The AARP will offer tax assistance from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 5 through April 15 at the Saline Senior Center. It's by appointment only. The tax assistance is done by trained volunteers in partnership with the IRS, and is geared to seniors age 60 and older. The volunteers are able to do 1040 forms, and amended returns. The returns will be sent electronically. They are unable to do returns with trust funds, business or farm income; with the exception of Schedule CE2.
