Saline Stingrays take down Dexter

The Saline Stingrays swim club defeated Dexter 442-344 at the Jan. 17 South Michigan Swim League "backstroke" dual meet.

"We had many good swims and the meet was tied at several points through the evening," said coach Nick Munsell.
Highlights from the 8-and-younger girls division included: 100-yard medley relay 2, Emily Klemptner, Francesca Panzica, Maxine Taylor, Alexandra Arenas, 1:25.24; 25 freestyle1, Arenas, 15.73; 2, Panzica, 17.60; 25 backstroke4, Sara VanOtteren, 22.65; 100 freestyle relay1, Taylor, Alexandria Leon, Panzica, Arenas, 1:11.20; 2, Cara Hughes, Sydney Kermath, Lauren Galloway, Klemptner, 1:23.11.
Highlights from the 8-and-younger boys division included: 100 medley relay1, Tyler Plocki, Adam Whitton, Evan Koerschner, Santiago Arenas, 1:28.15; 3, Ian Greene, Connor Cooke, Adam Hau, Peter Ward; 25 freestyle1, Plocki, 17.01; 3, Michael MacGillivray, 18.54; 25 backstroke3, Plocki, 21.76; 100 freestyle relay1, Arenas, Cooke, Koerschner, Whitton, 1:19.35.
Highlights from the 9-10 girls' division included: 200 medley relay2, Victoria Arenas, Sophie Brightman, Lauren Green, Aly Dahlmann, 2:37.23; 50 freestyle1, Green, 35.05; 3, Alexandra McPherson, 35.91; 200 freestyle relay2, Corinne Cox, Dahlmann, Green, Arenas, 2:19.62.
