Saline's youth say they need a teen center.

They want a space to gather, play video games, work on projects and just "hang out."
A survey conducted by the Saline Youth Council in recent months concluded that kids in middle and high school would use a teen center and are willing to work together to make things happen.
There are more than 2,500 students at both schools and the overwhelming majority of kids polled gave a "thumbs up" to the concept.
To help further the development of a new facility, the Saline Youth Council will host a community forum 7 p.m. Feb. 28 at City Hall.
As Andrew Schantz, Saline Youth Council chairman, said: "We want to pack the house."
Invitations have been sent to school administrators, downtown merchants, residents, elementary, middle and high school students, parents, Parent-Teacher Organization members and city staff.
"We want support and comments from the entire community to figure out how to make this happen," Schantz said.
Two former youth council members, Alex Schukow and Colin Roberts, will act as moderators with current youth council representative presenting survey findings and fielding questions from participants.
Results from a survey finished four years ago, along with the more recent conclusions, budget concerns, location and logistics will be introduced and discussed.
