Laura Walcott and Joseph Blattner are engaged and planning a June wedding.

Parents of the future bride are Wayne and Candice Walcott and Ann Walcott, all of Ann Arbor. She is a 2001 graduate of Saline High School and earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Syracuse University. She works for the Ann Arbor Observer.
The future groom is the son of John and Peggy Blattner of Ann Arbor. He is a 2001 Saline High School graduate and earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. He is a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army, serving at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. He is expected to return from a yearlong deployment in February.
