"We want to empower teens with the knowledge and skills to apply for local jobs and provide a convenient way for employers to recruit employees," said Andrew Schantz, Saline Youth Council chairman.
Two workshops will be held. "Session I -- Applying for a Job" will give advice on how to complete an application, build a resume and write a cover letter. "Session II -- Interview Techniques" will offer teens a chance to role play and learn the right and wrong things to say and do in an interview.
Business owners recruiting for part-time and seasonal teen employees are encouraged to participate in the job fair. The Saline Recreation Center will provide a table and chairs. Recruiting representatives should bring employment applications, information about their business, applications, pens and other materials they may need.
Contact Jody Roberts at 429-3502, ext. 2505, or jroberts@city-saline.org for more information or to register. Advance registration by April 9 is required.
