Swarm come through storm
PUBLISHED: March 27, 2008
The Saline Swarm '98 Black girls' soccer team not only survived blizzard conditions that dumped over a foot and a half of snow in Cleveland the weekend of March 8 and 9, but also captured the National Indoor Soccer Championship for the Girls U-10 division.

The Swarm started off hot by beating the Lake Erie Wave 9-1 and followed that up with a tightly fought 4-3 victory over the Michigan Hawks. The Swarm earned their way to the finals by beating the Mentor Fireballz 6-0.
The Swarm then kept their winning streak alive by beating the Mentor Fireballz in the finals 4-2.
Capturing the National Indoor Championship was a great experience for the girls, who will compete in Western Suburban Soccer League Division I this coming spring. Driving in blizzard-like conditions was a great challenge for their parents, but they too came through for a very memorable weekend adventure.
