Saline police stopped an 18-year-old Saline woman 11 p.m. March 25 when she didn't turn her high beams off when prompted by the officer, who was traveling in the opposite direction on North Maple Road.
The officer pulled over the woman's vehicle at North Maple and Woodland Drive. When the officer asked why the woman didn't turn her high beams off, she explained that if she tried the lights would turn off completely.
The officer could smell intoxicants on her breath and coming from the car, according to police reports. She was arrested along with her 18-year-old passenger from Saline. A third passenger was also in the car but was of legal drinking age.
All passengers' blood-alcohol levels were under the legal limit.
Destruction of Property
A 45-year-old Saline man's van was egged at about 1 p.m. March 23 in the 1400 block of Maplewood Drive. According to the victim, it was the second time it has happened in the last two weeks. Other vehicles in the neighborhood were also egged, according to police reports.
Hit-and-Run Incident
A 56-year-old Saline man was the victim of a hit-and-run incident March 23 in the Busch's ValuLand parking lot. The man was in the store from about 1:30 to 2 p.m. When he returned to his car, he noticed red paint damage on the passenger side of his car. His passenger-side mirror was also broken, according to police reports. Police have no suspects.
