Bomey, Prater to wed

Nathan Bomey, a 2002 Saline High School graduate, recently became engaged to Kathryn Prater, a 2003 graduate of Linden High School in Linden.

Bomey, the son of Randy and Deanna Bomey of Saline, graduated summa cum laude from Eastern Michigan University in April 2006 with a double major in journalism and political science. He wrote for The Saline Reporter and The Milan News-Leader from May 2000 through May 2006.
Bomey completed a metro news internship at The Washington Times in Washington, D.C., in summer 2006 and is now a reporter for The Ann Arbor Business Review.
Prater, the daughter of Lynn Blazier and John Prater of Linden, graduated summa cum laude April 29 from EMU with a degree in journalism. She has completed metro news reporting internships for The Saginaw News and The Grand Rapids Press.
Prater, who studied abroad in Groningen, Netherlands, during the fall 2006 semester, has earned a Pulliam Fellowship at the Indianapolis Star this summer. She will complete a 10-week internship as a business reporter.
Bomey and Prater met while working for the Eastern Echo, the EMU student newspaper.
