Located at Liberty School since last spring, the library will be closed all of May, reopening in the new digs 9 a.m. May 27.
A grand reopening party for the community will be held May 31.
Until then, a drive-up drop box can be found on the grounds of the library at 555 N. Maple Road.
Also, renewals may be completed by phone at 429-5450 or online at www.saline.lib.mi.us.
The $5.8 million construction project began on the library a year ago, adding 16,800 square feet to the existing building, doubling its size and giving local residents more books, music, movies, computers and a brighter reading area.
There will be a new youth department with a dedicated entrance for young families, a teen area and new space for local history, including the Bixby marionettes.
There also will be an outside reading area and a winding 1,000 foot trail that crosses 11 acres of woodlands behind the library.
When the library reopens, it will have expanded hours, open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays all year.
