Christmas in Action boosted couple's spirits

We are so grateful to Christmas in Action for sending such a dedicated group of people to clean up our yard, trim trees, wash windows, plant flowers, clean eaves and other tasks.

What a lift to our spirits to look out and see a long neglected yard looking so pristine.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

God bless you all.

Christmas in Action something special

My heartfelt appreciation goes to the Christmas in Action crew that arrived at my house Saturday morning.

"Action" is the key word in their title. They never stopped working the whole day, and did such a beautiful job. I am so happy with all the ways they helped me -- more than I had ever expected.

These nice people are just another example of what makes Saline so special.

Saline has some great coaches

For over two years, my son has been a Saline Stingray. I need to tell you just how great all the coaches are.

Nick Munsell, Pat Wickering, Kelli Littlejohn and Megan Crosby are great leaders and fine role models for our children in the program.

I also want to mention Sandy Stafford and Laura Outlaw for the very same qualities for the Swim USA program. I go and stay for virtually all practices and I volunteer to help at meets. This gives me a great opportunity to see their organizational shills, see how they train and teach the kids swimming and, lastly, how to be good sports.

A great example of this is at championships. When the coaches of all other teams have left championships, our coaches and some swimmers have stayed to congratulate the Dexter coaches who have had the winning team.

I have never seen Saline coaches yell or lose their professionalism. It's amazing how quick all the coaches learn the names and personalities of more than 150 different children. The coaches know the swimmer's best strokes and times, and are so happy for the kids when they improve and swim their best -- and this is the best positive feedback for the kids.

The coaches are great examples of leadership for our young swimmers and my family is so grateful to them for what they have done for our swimmer.

Go Stingrays.
