Incumbents Patrick Little, Kathy Roth and David Rhoads intend to run again for the three open City Council positions and are circulating petitions supporting their nomination for the Aug. 5 filing deadline.
Brian Marl, who currently serves on the Zoning Board of Appeals, Saline Historic District Commission and Special Projects Commission, has also filed his petition and is a qualified candidate for council.
Mayor Gretchen Driskell, who is completing her fifth term, will also run again and is uncontested at this time.
Residents who would like to run for the council seats need to file nominating petitions and qualifying documents with the city clerk's office by 4 p.m.
Forms and information for the two-year terms are available from the clerk at city hall, 100 N. Harris. For more information, call 429-4907, ext. 209, 216 or 214.
City Council meets 7:30 p.m. the first and third Mondays of each month, and the six members and the mayor are required to attend various other commission meetings, special work sessions and public events.
