Now through Sept. 3

Saline Parks and Recreation adult softball registration is open for the fall leagues beginning the week of Sept. 8. Monday and Wednesday evenings are Men's Division, while Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings are the co-recreational divisions. All players must be 18 years or older. Teams play seven weeks of double headers. The team registration fee is $245. A $75 deposit can be placed to hold a spot. For more information or to register, call 429-3502.

Thursday, Aug. 21

The Washtenaw County Farm Bureau will host a coffee hour with U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg 10 a.m. at the Howard and Kelven Braun Farm, 1995 W. Bemis Road in Saline.

Friday, Aug. 22

Movie in the Park will take place a Mill Pond Park as a free community event. The feature presentation of "Ratatouille" will begin at sundown. Activities and concessions will start at 6 p.m. It will be the last movie of the summer as part of the Movie in the Park series. Destination Imagination Fridays will be offered by Saline Community Education. The program is for students entering first through ninth grades and will run from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The fee is $15. Saline Kids Camp will be offered at the Saline Recreation Center for youth ages 5 through 12. The theme is "Final Hurrah." In addition to daily swimming, sports, crafts and games, the campers will be taking a field trip to the Glo Golf on Wednesday. The camp hours are flexible from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Wednesday, Aug. 27

Saline Fire Station blood drive will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Call 429-4440 to schedule an appointment.

Friday, Aug. 29

Deadline to register for Youth Flag Football offered by Saline Community Education. The league is open to boys and girls entering third through sixth grades. Games will be played Sunday afternoons starting Sept. 21. The fee is $70. Deadline is at 4 p.m. Registration forms are available online at www.salinecommunityed.com or call 429-8020.

Red Cross blood drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at St. Joseph Mercy Saline Hospital, 400 Russell St. To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-448-3543.

Monday, Sept. 1

Mini-Mackinac Park-to-Park and Bridge Walk will be held 8:30 a.m. starting at the Richardson Park Pavilion in York Township. For more information, call 439-8842.

Tuesday, Sept. 2

In-person registration begins for fall story times at the Saline District Library. All parents of preschoolers are invited to sign-up for the first session 9 a.m. in the library's youth department. Those interested in registering for the Library Book Babies Storytime may also sign up Sept. 2. Telephone registration for all story time programs begins Sept. 3 during normal business hours. All story times begin the week of Sept. 15 and run for six weeks. Call 429-5450.

Horseback riding lessons are offered by Saline Community Education. Class will meet from 6 to 6:30 p.m. every Thursday at the Cedar Ridge Equestrian Center. The fee is $72. Register with Saline Community Education online at www.salineonline.org or by calling 429-8020.

MILAN

Thursday, Aug. 21

through Saturday, Aug. 23

The Eagle Spring Sub Relay for Life Team will hold a garage sale fundraiser at 736 Blue Bird Lane in Milan. Thursday's sale will be open from 6 to 9 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. All the money will support the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Sept. 13 and 14 in Milan's Wilson Park.

Friday, Aug. 22

Friends That Care will host a steak, chicken or salmon fry from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Tri County Sportsman League. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Milan-Saline.

Saturday, Aug. 23

Spaghetti Dinner to help assist Milan Hometown Heroes will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Milan Moose Lodge, 14484 Sanford Road, in Milan Township. Tickers are $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and younger.
